Area Attractions

Mayhill is nestled in the scenic Sacramento Mountains of southern New Mexico ... heart of legendary "Hunting and Cowboy Country" where Billy the Kid and Pat Garrett once rode, and where General Henry Stanton led cavalry battles against Apache warriors. Those tough pioneer days have now given way to cultural friendship and rich opportunities for sightseeing, hiking, hunting, fishing, and horseback riding in the beautiful Lincoln National Forest.

Visiting ranchers, vacationing families, and rugged hunters all agree that Mayhill is the perfect place for exciting and scenic daytime adventures... and peaceful, star-filled, mountain nights. We're located along US Highway 82 between Alamogordo and the cool ponderosa breeze.
